The Center is celebrating Art Museum Day with introductory tours at 11 am and 2 pm, and a 10 percent discount on entire purchases at the Museum Shop. The tours of the Center will also feature the Founder’s Room, which is open to the public on special occasions. This room commemorates the life, interests, and generosity of the museum’s benefactor, Paul Mellon (1907–1999), Yale College Class of 1929. Sponsored by the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD), Art Museum Day is an annual event that recognizes museums as important civic anchors, which offer inspiring and educational experiences in ways that make towns, cities, and regions better places for everyone who lives and works there.
