Ice Carving Competition & A Cappella Concert

Free & open to the public. Watch as 6 professional ice carvers each transform 900lbs of ice (3 blocks) into a spectacular sculpture in only 4 hours. Great photo opportunities with the ice sculptures after the event. View photos from 2018 here!

A Cappella Concert:
It is incredible to hear how full a sound the singers can produce with just their pure voices and no musical accompaniment. You’ll be treated to performances by several accomplished a cappella groups throughout the afternoon, including The Yale Alley Cats , SCSU’s NOTEorious, The New Blue of Yale, Yale’s Proof of the Pudding, The Guilford Carolers (formerly Guilford Voices), Yale Out of the Blue, The Yale Spizzwinks(?), Redhot & Blue of Yale and more!

The Ice Carving Competition takes place on Broadway Island, located at 56 Broadway, across from Apple, L.L.Bean, J.Crew and Urban Outfitters. The event will take place, snow, rain or shine.
