New Haven’s Appetizer & Dessert Crawl starts on Saturdays in April

Who needs a full meal when New Haven’s Appetizer & Dessert Crawls offers such scrumptious alternatives?

The Elm City will begin its annual food crawl series on Saturdays, from noon to 3 p.m., beginning April 18. The event, sponsored by The Shops at Yale, offers appetizer and dessert tastings from 14 restaurants and eateries, according to a news release. Proceeds from the event will be donated to CitySeed, the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter, the Greater New Haven Arts Council and United Way of Greater New Haven, according to the release.

Tickets to the event, which are $25 each, include free all-day parking at the 150 York Street Garage (Chapel-York Garage), exclusive shopping offers from local merchants and a cotton tote bag, according to the release. Subsequent crawls will take place May 2, June 13, and —new this year —Dec.19. Delights from tiramisu to mango smoothies to fried mozzarella and even a cheeseburger egg roll from Nice Day Chinese, will be included in the April 18 event

Among the restaurants participating in the April event are: Ashley’s Ice Cream; Bobbi’s Pizza; Common Grounds; Nice Day Chinese; Pedals Smoothie & Juice Bar; Shah’s Halal Food; Sherkaan Indian Street Food; Yorkside Pizza & Restaurant; Book Trader Café; dwell New Haven, (hosting Union League Pâtisserie); Harvest Wine Bar & Restaurant; Pacifico; South Bay; and Villa Lulu, according to the release.
