New Haven, CT – Yale University Properties is excited to announce the official ribbon cutting ceremony for Common Grounds in Downtown New Haven at their 276 York Street location on Tuesday, June 6 at 3:00pm. New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker and other notable members of the community will be in attendance.

Husband and wife team Wilson and Dena Jara deliver their customers a premium and unique coffee experience by sourcing their beans from all around the world and roasting them locally using masterful roasting techniques. In addition to offering a wide variety of coffee drinks, patrons can also enjoy unique teas, an assortment of freshly made baked goods, premade sandwiches, and other quality food items.

“We take great pride in offering premium coffee by sourcing only the highest quality beans and roasting each bean to perfection,” says owner Dena Jara. “Quality is at the cornerstone of our business, and we believe it is our attention to detail, top-of-the-line brewing equipment and years of experience that allow us to offer our customers an exceptional product every time they visit.”

Wilson Jara added, “The idea to open three new cafes with Yale University Properties was one of the best decisions we have made, given the prime locations in Downtown New Haven and the large population of working professionals and students that frequent our businesses. We want to thank Yale University Properties and the City of New Haven who have made the process of opening our new cafes so incredibly easy from start to finish!”

Common Grounds was recently named “Best Coffee Shop” in The New Haven Register’s 2023 Best of New Haven Poll.
