NEW HAVEN >> Dogs in need of adoption will benefit from two events downtown Sunday.
The annual dog adoption event held on the Broadway island will be joined this year by the inaugural Appetizer and Dessert Crawl fundraiser to benefit the Robin I. Kroogman Haven Animal Shelter.
“We have been holding the (dog adoption) portion of this event every August on Broadway Island, which has always worked out nicely, but the Appetizer & Dessert Crawl adds a new element of fun and excitement, and an opportunity to raise money for the shelter,” said Police Officer Joseph Manganiello, the city’s animal control officer, in a press release.
