Welcome New Haven & The Shops at Yale!
Enjoy live music from local bands & mural painting demonstrations on Saturdays July 23 – August 27 from 12:00-3:00pm on Broadway Island. A different band will play their latest hits each Saturday, while a local artist paints an 8′ mural wall using a “New Haven” theme. The mural walls will be on display this fall in windows throughout downtown.
Join Yale University undergraduate guides for a conversational tour focused on a selection of objects from the Gallery’s global collection. No two tours are the same.
Picture On a Highlights Tour, Gallery Guide Daniel Zhang, JE ’26, invites audience members to take a closer look at Winslow Homer’s Old Mill (The Morning Bell) (1871).

Appetizer & Dessert Crawls
Saturdays April 13, May 4 & June 8, 2024 | 12:00-3:00 pm
Join us on Saturdays April 13, May 4 & June 8 for Downtown New Haven’s largest food crawl series, the 5th Annual Appetizer & Dessert Crawl with 13 appetizer and dessert stops at some of Downtown New Haven’s most popular restaurants.
Tickets
Tickets are available for only $20 each, plus processing fees. Ticket holders will receive one-day-only exclusive offers at select locally-owned boutiques and national retailers, in addition to free all-day parking and a free tote bag! The events take place rain or shine.
Guests and children of all ages are required to purchase tickets as quantities are based on ticket sales.

Where Are Proceeds Donated?
Proceeds from events will benefit New Reach (April 13), The Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter (May 4) and Arts & Ideas (June 8). To date, The Shops at Yale has donated more than $14,000 from this event to non-profits in New Haven! This year, we hope to donate an additional $10,000 by hosting three crawls!
Dog Adoption on Broadway Island
Saturday, May 4, 2024 | 12:00-3:00pm
The Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter, The Friends of The New Haven Animal Shelter and North Shore Animal League America will be visiting Broadway Island on May 4 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm with select dogs available for adoption and information regarding additional animals. Note, those who wish to adopt must apply.
The Dog Adoption is a family-friendly event which is free and open to the public, featuring fun actives and free parking. The Shops at Yale marketing team will be presenting a check for $3,500 to Friends of The New Haven Animal Shelter from the proceeds of the sold-out Appetizer & Dessert Crawl, also taking place on May 4.
The event will include:
• Live jazz from local musicians
• Free caricatures
• Free Face painting
• Free Kettle Corn
• Free Parking
Broadway Island is located at 56 Broadway – across from Apple, Lululemon and J.Crew. Free parking is available at the 150 York Street Garage (Chapel-York Garage) with validation at the event.
Join us to celebrate our vibrant arts community with live music, dance, face painting, local vendors, and food trucks—fun for all ages and family-friendly! This is a free event open to all.
