Union League Cafe celebrates 25th year on Chapel

From engagement dinners to job interviews to parents’ weekend splurges, New Haven Union League Cafe has been serving up the city’s special occasions for a quarter-century.

As my husband says, it’s got the best room: deep green walls, white-clothed tables, scuffed wooden floorboards, coffered ceiling, massive fireplace and hushed, bow-tied service.

“To say New Haven is better for having the distinct presence of the Union League Cafe these past 25 years would be the appetizer to a full menu of contributions made to our city,” Mayor Harp said.
